As a student at the University of Georgia, Jane studied many types of media, styles and techniques.
A participant in the Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy, she came away from Italy with a huge
appreciation for art history and tromp-l’oeil style of painting. After graduation, Jane continued her
realistic style and found that she enjoyed painting things that usually go unnoticed or unappreciated,
i.e. a banana peel lying in the street or cigarette butts wedged between cracks of pavement. In this
particular style of painting, Jane does not paint from photographs but actually paints from the objects
themselves. In doing so, color form and detail remain true.
